From internship to permanent position: Isabella's start at Hellmann

Working Student HR Region Nord
Hamburg
Hi Isabella, thank you so much for sharing your insights with us! Tell us, what did you do before Hellmann?
After graduating, I first did a federal volunteer service before I decided to study business psychology. My main focus during my studies was human resources, marketing and market research. On the side, I already had a working student job at a shipping company, so logistics was somehow obvious to me. Towards the end of my studies, I did an internship at Hellmann in the HR Learning & Development team. Then I was taken on as a working student until the end of my bachelor's degree.
Your bachelor's degree is now finished. Congratulations! What do you do now?
I have joined the team as a temporary commercial employee in HR with a focus on junior staff development for the Hamburg location. Together with a colleague, I am responsible for the recruiting and applicant management of trainees. This also includes accompanying trade fairs or school visits or seminars for trainees. These were the fields of activity that I was able to get to know as a working student.
You've been with Hellmann for some time: What do you appreciate most every day?
From the very beginning, I felt supported here in a safe environment to learn new skills and develop professionally. The fact that I was already given responsibility as a working student shows me that my commitment and achievements are perceived and I appreciate this trust very much. But I am also still enthusiastic about the variety of my tasks and the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of the company.
Isabella's tips for new colleagues:
Be open and curious from the beginning! It's important to ask questions and to actively get involved – even if you don't know or understand everything yet. This strengthens the cooperation and opens up chances for new exciting opportunities to get involved in the Hellmann world. In addition, you should not be afraid to take responsibility , because this is your chance to grow!
