Thank you, for sharing your story with us, Ivan. Since when have you been with Hellmann and what is your position?
Since September 2021. My current position is Renewable Energy Roadfreight Supervisor.
Could you share some insights about what that job entails?
Right now, we coordinate the transfer of solar panels through the different Solar farms that our customer has throughout the United States. This position entails vendor management, procurement and working closely with our Seafreight Import teams when they manage the importation of these goods from the multiple manufacturers.
That sounds really interesting! How would you describe your career at Hellmann so far?
So far, I have been able to develop strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills, always trying to position myself for continued success in this industry.
That’s great to hear! But what made you choose the logistics industry in the first place?
I would think that the scale and complexity of the logistics industry is what attracts me the most. This is a global industry and coordinating the movement of goods around the world involves a complex web of transportation, warehousing, customs, and technology.
Sounds like you’re really passionate about your field! And what would you say working at Hellmann is like?
It is a fast-paced and demanding work; you have to be willing to put in the hours to be able complete things. You have opportunity for advancement and professional growth. Overall, working at Hellmann has been a rewarding experience. The work atmosphere is collaborative and supportive.
And so far, what has been your favorite moment at Hellmann?
My best moment at Hellmann so far is when I was included by management to be part of the new culture introduction in the United States with the different product managers from different stations nationwide. Having that opportunity to participate and learn from colleagues is priceless.
That must have been a great experience! What about Hellmann makes it the right employer for you?
Hellmann to me is the best employer so far, because they have given me career growth opportunities. Hellmann has allowed me to grow professionally and be able to be part of the renewable energy vertical. What I like the most is the camaraderie, the mutual respect, the diversity of backgrounds and skills and the shared sense of purpose.
But despite all that, you are probably still familiar with that typical Monday feeling. How do you get over it?
I know that typical Monday feeling from past workplaces but at Hellmann it’s different, it’s special, to me. I look at everyday as a new opportunity to do better, one day at a time.
