Logistics that inspire! - Qendrim talks about his first day at Hellmann and what fascinates him about the industry!
Hello Qendrim, tell us a little bit about your career! How was your path to your current position?
I started my apprenticeship as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk. Then I spent some time in my training company and then switched to Hellmann in 2019. First, I worked in Seafreight Export Automotive. In 2021, I moved to Direct Load as a dispatcher and have been head of department there since February 2023.
That was a while ago, but can you still remember your very first day at Hellmann?
On the first day of work, my gut feeling from the interview was immediately confirmed. I had a very warm welcome. Everyone introduced themselves, my entire work equipment was new and thus up to the latest technological standards. My workplace was very well-maintained. The colleagues were very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed, familial, and friendly. Friendships even formed that still last to this day.
You have already gone through various stations at Hellmann. What does it mean to you to work at Hellmann?
To work internationally! I am in daily contact with teams from Spain, France and Italy. Occasionally also with colleagues from China and the USA.

Is there anything you look back on with particular pride during your time at Hellmann?
Of course, I'm always proud of one or two customer wins or the achievement of our goals. But it's a team effort, so I'm very proud of my team. Even in difficult situations, the team stays on the ball. The colleagues are always motivated, optimistic, and with the perfect amount of humor. This is how we have mastered all challenges so far.
I know from you that you even volunteer at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce as an examiner. You can feel your enthusiasm for logistics. What fascinates you in particular?
It is this central role in the global economy! Logistics connects various areas – from production to transport to storage and distribution – ensuring that goods arrive efficiently and punctually at their destination. What impresses me most is the complexity and dynamism of the industry. Logistics requires precise planning, flexibility, and quick responses to changes, such as disruptions in supply chains or sudden changes in demand. Additionally, it is a key driver for innovations, such as the use of new technologies like AI, automation, and sustainable solutions. As logisticians, we aim not only to meet our customers' expectations but to exceed them! We continuously optimize processes and contribute to global networking – making the logistics industry a particularly exciting and promising field of work.
Qendrim's tips for new colleaguesI would advise you to just be authentic. And to listen to your gut feeling. I already had a contract from a competitor, but after the interview at Hellmann I listened to my gut feeling and decided on Hellmann. The gut feeling was absolutely right!
