Working in logistics can feel like solving a puzzle. Let Reena tell you, what she likes the most about it:
Reena, would you like to give us some insights on what your journey at Hellmann has looked like so far?
I started at Hellmann in January 2023, and I would say my career has just begun to take shape from being as an Apprentice to now a Seafreight Import Coordinator since January 2024.
What makes logistics so interesting to you?
The fact that logistics never gets boring with all the new issues every day. It makes every day a learning experience.
And your job specifically? What is your favorite thing about it?
Staying on top of each shipment and interacting with different parties associated with the supply chain. I also get fascinated by the different set of numbers that we use to identify the freight; it is like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle and every time the freight moves using this identification number we near to the completion of this puzzle.
And what is solving this puzzle at Hellmann like? How would you describe the working atmosphere?
It feels like working in a family structure. Every supervisor and manager I worked with during my apprenticeship has been welcoming and understanding.
It’s great to hear that you’ve gotten support from your supervisors! What about your team, how would you describe it?
We are a team of four, which includes 1 supervisor and 3 of us Seafreight Import Coordinators. My team is based in Indiana, though I operate from New Jersey. I like the dedication and energy they put in the everyday work. They always have an answer for the customer.
So you work in a dedicated, customer-oriented team. That’s wonderful! Could you tell us more about what collaboration means at Hellmann?
I have been working with different teams in my rotation and one common experience that I came across is they are very collaborative, always ready to share knowledge and information. What you see in me today is the reflection of every team member I worked with; in my journey I have taken something from everyone here about what makes a good operator on the job front.
