From an internship to a home - Let Sebastian tell you about his ongoing journey at Hellmann!

Sebastian, we’re glad you’re sharing some of your insights with us! How did you first end up with Hellmann?

I started in December 2011, more than 12 years ago. Once I finished my university degree in International Business and Foreign Trade Engineering, I was looking for a good place to do my internship and Hellmann allowed me to do it. When I finished my internship, I was hired, and it has been my home ever since.

That’s great! And what is your current job?

My current position is as Project Cargo and Specialty Logistics Manager, I have been in Houston, Texas, USA for 3 months. Before my current position, I was in Chile as Project Cargo Specialist where I worked for about 10 years.

It’s very impressive, that you took that step! How would you describe your career at Hellmann so far?

My career has been full of learning, and constant growth and I have had the opportunity to have great mentors until today, who have helped me a lot and whom I thank for trusting me.

How about team-work at Hellmann. Could you tell us something about your team?

It is a team of mostly young people eager to grow the Houston office.
I like that there is a lot of interest in doing new things and they seek to give the best results in each shipment.

Do you have a favorite memory of your team?

When I arrived on my first day, they made me a welcome letter and they introduced themselves individually.

That must have been a warm welcome! And what would you say makes Hellmann the right employer for you?

To me Hellmann is the best employer, because the teams are open to listening to proposals and innovations, they consider that every contribution is important, there is no marked hierarchy and I feel free to contribute on different topics. Some colleagues have moved between areas and with us, there is freedom to do so. As long as you want to reach your best potential they will be there to support you, and that's how you can make a career.
