It’s awesome that you are willing to share your story. Would you tell us, what’s your current position at Hellmann and what your job looks like?
I work as a team leader in the maritime export department. I support my team in the pricing phase of export shipment requests coming from the network and our local sales team, and in the correct execution of the operational process in case the business is won.
Can you remember your first day of working at Hellmann, what was your first impression and did it prove true?
I remember it like it was yesterday, I was very surprised when I met the company employees and heard how many years they had been with Hellmann. Everyone had been here for many years. This situation made me very relieved. I thought that if it was a bad company, people would not have stayed this long. I knew at that moment that my choice was right.
And now you are here, Why did you choose this job, where did your interest in this field arise from?
I graduated from the Import / Export department at the university, I was actually looking for a job in foreign trade companies, but I met an official from the MSC line during a training I attended. He told me that a forwarder company was looking for employees and that he could recommend me. I said why not and started. I can say it was completely a coincidence. Afterwards, our branch manager where I started working told me that he wanted to train me for the maritime sector since he was from a maritime background. And yes, here I am.
The teams support each other – just like a family does. And if you reflect on your own career, what has been your greatest professional success so far?
As the maritime department, I am very lucky, each person who joined the team added a new color and instantly adapted to the team. Everyone did everything to provide support when needed, regardless of seniority or status. I can say that we were supported by each other's energy as we moved forward like the wild geese in our logo.
So how would you describe your team?
It's like a rainbow, there are people of all colors, we are not very crowded, but it is amazing that people of different characters, growing up environments are very different and people of different ages mix so well. Moreover, they are all very valuable people with the human values they carry.
So what excites you most about this job?
Like every operator, when I perform very profitable and different types of loading, I still get excited as if it was my first operation. For example, I still can't forget the 360 life container for one of our clients 3 years ago. But the loads we are currently doing excite me very much as well. I'm proud of my company for being a part of many vehicles I see on the road.
How do you experience the working atmosphere at Hellmann?
I feel as comfortable as at home. Honestly, being here for many years makes me feel like I belong here. We moved our office 1.5 years ago, I think this was very good for us as a company. We now work more closely with other departments and can communicate with them more. This increases our unity as a company. Therefore, I am very pleased and happy.
If you had to describe what working at Hellmann means to you in only two sentences, what would they be?
They say that if you love your workplace, you won't feel like going to work every morning. When I come to Hellmann, I don't feel like I'm coming to work. I'm glad I'm here, I'm glad we're together.
