Vijitha, it’s awesome that you are willing to share your story. Would you tell us, what’s your current position at Hellmann and what does your job look like?
I am working as a Senior Manager Airport Operations and also overlook the Customs House Brokerage (CHB) department. In this role, I guide and mentor junior staff in airport operations, ensuring smooth operation without interruptions and assisting with problem-solving as needed. I closely collaborate with the CHB department to generate revenue independently while supporting the primary product departments, Air- and Seafreight operations.
You are part of Hellmann since 1998, which is very impressive! What fascinates you about the logistics industry?
I have always dreamed of finding a job where I could work with airplanes and ships and I always liked a more practical and challenging job. In my current job I am directly involved in some logistics processes which makes me very happy.
Sounds like you really enjoy working in the logistics industry. What is working at Hellmann like?
In short Hellmann is my second home and is part of my family. We have a great working environment governed by a code of conduct with emphasis on discipline with a great balance of freedom for employees to develop and work independently.

Let's talk about your team. How is your team made up? What is the team composition?
Most of them are young and energetic, dedicated to getting the job done, and strong enough to go the extra mile when required. My team consists of one Assistant Manager, one Senior Executive, two Operations Executives, three Wharf Clerks, and one Driver.
