It’s awesome that you are willing to share your story. Would you tell us, what’s your current position at Hellmann and what your job looks like?
I work as a Team Leader in Roadfreight at Hellmann. I follow the operational processes from planning to unloading. This process generally starts with the customer or agency declaring the load, removing the loads, following the preparation of customs documents, and then transferring the vehicle to our warehouse in the most appropriate way, taking into account cost and time. We maintain intensive communication with many different parties such as buyers, customs agents, sales departments, sub-carrier companies, agencies and buyers.
Can you remember your first day of working at Hellmann, what was your first impression and did it prove true?
I remember the day I came for the first interview more clearly, but the first day seems more vague. Everyone talks on the phone all the time and returns e-mails.There was an environment where he was doing things but I didn't fully understand what was being said. The positive approach of my colleagues and the fact that it is a lively sector affected me positively.
And now that you are here, why did you choose this job, where did your interest in this field arise from?
When I first started working at Hellmann, I did not have very detailed knowledge about the sector other than a few hearsay. Where there is intense communication and there is always something going on.I had the impression that it was a job that required monitoring and timely and appropriate interventions. I am generally a person focused on doing everything in a planned manner. This appealed to me. Being able to make plans for what might happen in my mind and put them into practice or take timely precautions suited my way of working.
What is collaboration at Hellmann like? How would you describe your team?
In our business, we are in contact with many parties from the receipt of the cargo to the delivery and not everyone is available at any time, but my friends in my team are in such situations. They take initiative and support our friends who need help. The person who has less work at the moment helps the other. In this way, work is done without interruption and team members are kept safe. They enable progress without making it difficult.
So what excites you most about this job?
The fact that it is a dynamic sector and the possibility of encountering a different situation every day is what attracts me the most.
How do you experience the working atmosphere at Hellmann?
A peaceful working environment prevails at Hellmann. Both the communication between colleagues and the beautiful atmosphere of the office make the busy daily work tempo more bearable.
