The Branch Manager Airfreight (Belgium) is operationally responsible for the Airfreight Branch in Brussels. You work with the Product Manager Airfreight to maximize local Product team performance. You develop new local business, aligned with Product and Sales. The Branch Manager provides people leadership to branch employees, represents Hellmann externally and is responsible for the management of Branch matters. You report to the Managing Director.

About the job

  • Track whether the budget Is on target, identify any variances, and address potential issues early
  • Approve credit notes in line with corporate guidelines and follows up on claims
  • Provide monthly financial reports.
  • Collaborate with the Product Head to maximize team performance and represents the branch externally
  • Manage branch facilities, infrastructure, and operational matters
  • Identify process bottlenecks, propose and implement improvements
  • Ensure timely and accurate handling of shipments
  • Build and maintain relationships within the Hellmann network (carriers, handlers, airlines)
  • Develop new local business aligned with Product Manager and Sales Head
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and ensure service agreements are fulfilled
  • Oversee pricing strategies and contribute to Airfreight growth objectives
  • Serve as account manager for key clients and assist in onboarding new customers
  • Lead and develop the Airfreight team, ensuring training and coaching are in place

About you

  • In-depth knowledge of airfreight logistics
  • Several years of experience managing operational departments
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen numerical insight
  • Excellent people management abilities
  • A commitment to growing alongside the organization
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English
