As a Field Sales Executive, you will be responsible to grow Company gross profit by obtaining and implementing profitable new business sales and achieve annual new business targets.

About the job

  • Generating sales from new customers and achieving the sales plan in terms of Gross Margin and Volume as determined by the National Sales manager and IMEA Sales Director
  • Increase client base by focusing on high profit, well paying customers.(Ensuring receivables management is under control and increasing cash flow)
  • Ensure that sales of all products are focused on in attracting and obtaining new clients
  • Ensure that there is regular and client engagement and prompt and efficient problem solving focused on meeting the clients business needs
  • Focus on on-boarding new clients through a detailed and quality driven procedures which we are well documented and efficiently handed over to operations for exceptional customer service
  • Conduct detailed client analyses focusing on gross margin volume and profitability and then adhere to new business client visits (as determined by management)
  • Achieve (and exceed) individual and Company Sales Budget
  • Ensure that all required reporting in Company sales system is accurately and comprehensively captured

About You

  • Must display clear knowledge and understanding of the forwarding and clearing industry, including but not limited to Seafreight function, airfreight function, road freight function, import or export function, warehousing function, country requirements etc
  • Knowledge of cost estimating techniques
  • Proven track record of target achievement, new business acquisition and return on investment
  • Superior market knowledge – remain up to date in terms of logistics operations globally and use this to your advantage to leverage sales and provide solutions to customers
  • At least 7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Matric
  • BCom in Supply chain is advantageous
