About the job

  • Receives notification of a new shipment from Customer Service or a foreign office, and then follows up on the shipment until it arrives at the port of destination
  • Review documents (MBL and HBL), review of data entered in CargoWise
  • Keep Customers informed about the status of their shipments on a regular basis
  • Maintain the Data Quality of the shipments in the operational system. Verify and ensure that statuses are uploaded in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with KPIs (performance indicators)
  • Transit / Arrival tracking of cargoes
  • Management of Local Payment Orders to shipowners/coloaders
  • Documentation collection from shipping lines and consolidators
  • Invoice operations in a timely manner
  • Load in the system the cost provisions and invoicing whenever applicable
  • Receipt/preparation/delivery of documentation to Customers
  • Follow up on shipment discrepancies (over/short merchandise, seal difference, kilos, etc)
  • Month-end closing support to Supervisor

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in international trade, logistics management or related field
  • One to three years of previous industry experience
  • Completion of any industry related coursework is a plus
  • Organizational skills
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Customer focused
  • Adaptable / flexible to high pressure environments
  • People skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email and Internet
  • Proficient in world geography, shipping documentation and preferably Incoterms
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts and other percentages
